IDC analysts have published a report on smartphone shipments for the third quarter of 2020. Xiaomi took third place.
What is known
Total deliveries reached 353.6 million units. This is 1.3% less than in the same period in 2019. According to IDC, the result is not bad, given that the forecasts indicated a 9% decrease.
Samsung is still the leader. Its market share was 22.7%. The Korean manufacturer managed to ship 80.4 million units. This is 2.9% more than in Q3 2019.
Huawei is second in the top, with shipments falling by 22% (51.9 million units). The company’s market share is 14.7%. Xiaomi took third place in the list. It managed to outperform Apple and take 13.1% of the market. The Chinese company shipped 46.5 million smartphones in the third quarter. This is 42% more than last year. Next comes Apple and vivo with market shares of 13% and 8.4% respectively.
